Alvin Chung

Alvin is a filmmaker, musician, and writer based in Sydney. His short films have screened at festivals including North Bellarine Film Festival and Sydney Lift-Off Film Festival, exploring themes of intimacy, memory, and identity.

As a musician, he’s released EPs and singles under the band Reservoir Dreams, and performed professionally both as a solo artist and as a guitarist in other bands. His songwriting and sound work often bridge the cinematic and the emotional, blending narrative and texture.

His writing has appeared in publications such as Folk Magazine and Taste of Cinema, and in 2019 he was awarded the Henry Lawson Prize for Prose for his short fiction.

Through Studio Reservoir, he mentors young creatives in film, writing, and music — helping them turn their ideas into finished, portfolio-ready works that express who they truly are.
